Life Groups
Bringing people together to fellowship, stirring up one another to love and do good works, to encourage each other, to sharpen one another in the word of God,
and to make disciples. We are the Ecclesia!

We are family!
At The Pointe Church, we believe in doing life together.  We do this through connecting with others in a small group setting. We believe it's biblical and it's critical to every believer’s spiritual growth process in a journey with the Lord.  God’s design is for us to be in relationship with Him and others. By going to a Life Group you'll experience a place that you'll belong, be encouraged, be challenged, and serve.  Our hope is that every person will feel the love of God and grow closer in their walk with Christ while developing meaningful relationships with others through Life Groups.  You are the family!
.
In Acts 2:42-41 Paul tells us the importance of the fellowship of the believers - "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

In Hebrews 10:23-25 Paul tells us to encourage and stir up one another to love, and not to neglect meeting together -  He encourages us who belongs to the ecclesia of God: "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."

In Matthew 28:16-20, Jesus gave us all The Great Commission - "Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

My hope is that everyone will find a place and people to do life together in a Life Group, learning to be a disciple and how to make disciples as Jesus calls us to do and that through this you’ll grow closer to Him and be unified with the body of Christ.

Common Questions?

WHAT HAPPENS AT A LIFE GROUP MEETING?

You’ve probably seen life groups meeting and not even realized it. A life group looks like friends at lunch or people studying a book or topic of interest. At its core, a life group is a gathering of people, and it is less about what you do and more about who you do it with. By participating in life groups, you can expect to connect with others through a common study, engage in life giving conversation and prayer.

HOW OFTEN DOES A LIFE GROUP MEET?

Our life groups meet for three semesters a year—winter/spring, summer, and fall. During the semester, most groups meet once a week. Life groups are meant to bring meaning and community into the flow of your life so even if you can’t attend every, single meeting, there is still great value in joining a group. During the in between semesters, we have a few continuous (ongoing) groups.  These will be posted at the Information Counter and on the Website

WHERE DO LIFE GROUPS MEET?

Life groups meet in places like homes, restaurants, coffee shops and at the church.

HOW LONG DOES A TYPICAL LIFE GROUP STAY TOGETHER?

Most life groups meet for a semester. This way, new people can join groups easily and regularly. Also, the semester format allows you to try multiple groups each year. As relationships form, some groups choose to stay together for consecutive semesters, but new members are always welcome.

IS THERE CHILDCARE AVAILABLE?

Childcare is available for our Wednesday and Sunday morning during services and night Life Groups that meet at the church.

WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE THE FIRST GROUP I TRY?

The truth is, not everyone will find the best fit with the first group they try. This is why we encourage you to select a few groups that interest you, contact the leaders and try out a couple different groups before choosing the best one for you. The simple strategy to finding success in life groups is to not give up. We believe there is a group that is right for everyone—including you!
